Sundance Family Foundation
Sundance Family Foundation connects employers who offer a pathway to middle skills careers to organizations supporting entry-level or recently certified young adults ages 18-24, especially those from ALANA, (African, Latinx, Asian, and Native American) and other communities who are not well represented in various industries.
Career Pathway Guide: We created an easy to follow middle skills career pathways guide focusing on four key areas: 1) career exploration 2) short-term credentials through education and training with paid internships 3) job placement with apprenticeships and paid on-the-job progressive training and 4) job retention support such as access to crisis funds, mentoring and career guidance.
Zoomerkammers: We support these career pathways with weekly Zoomerkammers from 11-12noon each Friday. During the hour, we provide 15 minute presentations on Zoom live to about 25-30 people. The recordings are available via YouTube, Facebook Live, and our website. We send email links to more than 300 high school counsellors, workforce navigators and program managers in the Twin Cities metropolitan area about programs that are available to mentor and guide students through career exploration, training at local post-secondary schools, and entry-level jobs. We supplement these with scheduled social media memes on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. You can see some of our past Zoomerkammers at http://www.earnandlearnmn.org/.
Zoomerkammer Speakers Catalogue: We also have a Zoomerkammer Catalogue which is a directory of all of these presenters at: http://docs.google.com/document/d/1UY7wu_Z1xo1IinOvnXPZDZTn8zlC6ssRJdGv0MHnyEc/edit?usp=sharing
Earn & Learn Documentary: The documentary was released in September. Check it out here.
